Philadelphia.  So hot right now.  As I (im)patiently await the debut LP from Sun Airway, fellow Philadelphians Grandchildren just added another hotly anticipated release to the city of bromance after previewing their debut LP "Everlasting".  A musical jaunt through a cavalcade of genres and influences that comes out somewhere on the psych-rock end with a heavy world/roots music imprint.

On occasion, listening to an album that spans as many genres as "Everlasting" does can get quite frustrating while also providing a good opportunity to divide a fan base.  However, when you pull it all together with such high quality like Grandchildren does on this album, you simply cannot help but sit back and get immersed in the record.  Their live shows are known for constant instrument switch-ups -- a trait that finds a way of translating on Everlasting.  There is chaos.  There is frenetic energy.  And, yet, it still finds a way to always feel grounded and peacefully placid.

A beautiful album from a band that is on the cusp of breaking out.  Get them while you can still rep cred points for liking them "before".  Check out a couple tracks down below and gear up for the album's release on September 29th via Green Owl.

Was meaning to post this last week but better late than never, I suppose. New tunes via the Jacksonville summer-soundtracker unouomedude (you-know-you-owe-me-dude) in the form of Marsh --- a 5 track (free!) EP featuring a couple familiar songs and a couple new pieces of gold put out by the hot-like-fire AMDISCS. I've never been sure what "it" is, but uno seems to get "it". Scroll down, immerse yourself in some new gems and grab that EP now.

"Birthday Party"- unouomedude from Marsh (2010)
"Dream Home"- unouomedude from Marsh (2010)
"Teens"- unouomedude from Marsh (2010)

Frends are an Indie Rock band from Dover, Ohio. It was just a few months ago that we had posted a few tracks from these guys & included them on the playlists. They sent a couple more tracks this way that they just recorded. It blows my mind that these guys haven't gotten much more attention than just a few hundred plays on myspace & aren't on some type of label. I suppose this is in the near future for these guys.  Give em' a listen below.
